Psychedelic Integration

Psychedelic experiences can feel a lot like physical travel. Anyone who’s backpacked or traveled for an extended period of time, will know that coming home can often be a shock to the system, taking weeks—months, even years to re-balance to our former lives.

In psychedelic integration sessions, I help you bridge your transformative experiences with new ways of perceiving, thinking and being. Common goals of these sessions can include behavior change, relationship balance and emotional release. You may also choose to work with the revision of values and the reimagining of worldviews.

Psychedelic integration is the practice of harvesting the fruits of psychedelic experience for the sake of your holistic healing.

IN-PERSON & REMOTE 1:1 PSYCHEDELIC INTEGRATION

Our Journey

UNEARTH

Goal: Unearth the dominant theme or core message of the experience.

Psychedelic experiences can resemble dream states in that they are often highly symbolic, beyond language and enigmatic. Receptivity is at the heart of this stage, as the experience and its meaning come into greater focus when we stay open to the unfolding of intuitive truths. In these sessions I encourage clients to explore their experiences using alternative, unrestrictive forms of expression grounded in discovery and wonder.

TRANSFORM

Goal: Take intentional action based on new insights

Here we’ll identify strategies for turning the gifts of insight into well thought-out decisions and small actionable steps. Together we’ll focus on prioritizing the lessons that came up for you and discuss how to turn inner wisdom into changed behavior. As a mental health professional, I am also uniquely capable of supporting individuals who have struggled/are actively struggling with issues of complex trauma, substance use and grief.

CRYSTALLIZE

Goal: Crystallize wisdom with embodiment practices and ritual.

Rituals allow us to come into greater alignment with ourselves, and to make sense of the stress and disconnection many of us feel in times of emergence. I will guide you to reconnected with yourself in an embodied way and amplify your values, so that you can create a life that feels authentically yours. I will also guide you in reintegrating exiled parts so that you can step into your fullest, most expansive Self expression.

Questions

My goal with this offering is to serve clients struggling with profound questions of identity, life transitions, and psychospiritual development by providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, harm reductive care and support.

  • Unfortunately there are no guarantees. Integration is an ongoing process which cannot be forced or rushed. However, it’s essential to find the right match so you can feel fully safe and supported in your process.

  • Generally speaking, no. In the United States, cannabis and prescription ketamine are legal psychedelic therapies. However, the social and political climate around psychedelics is changing, both in the United States and internationally. It has also become part of medical/public health care to provide education about ways of increasing safety for persons exploring psychedelic states. With the number of psychedelic explorers increasing, many people are in need of support—especially where psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is still inaccessible to most.

  • This completely depends on the person and the approach. The path of integration is not always straightforward and that’s okay; there is no deadline to this work. The integration phase is a process of continuing to mine your experiences for clarity so that your insights become embedded into your everyday life. This is a deeply personal process that reveals your connection to your own healing and journey to wholeness. The most important accomplishment is learning to honor wherever you are in the process, what you feel called to focus on, and showing up to the best of your ability for each step along the way.

  • Yes. Integration is particularly rewarding when we meet for both pre & post sessions. This enables us to do some powerful work around embodied intentions, and building a grounded, centered, resourcefulness. I can help you create safety and explore how to set clear intentions for your experience to help you accomplish your desired goals and objectives. This in turn can assist you in building self trust and confidence, as well as purpose and meaning. Preparation conversations will always include a discussion of harm reduction approaches e.g. set & setting.

  • No. Psychedelic integration sessions are intended to help individuals create meaning and benefit from past psychedelic experiences, or ensure safe preparation for future ones.

  • Psychedelic integration can be explored using either lens, psychotherapy or coaching. For more information on the differences between these practices please reach out via the Connect page.

  • Yes, transferring from coaching into therapy is allowed and encouraged for addressing more in-depth issues such as generational/complex trauma. However, I have limited space in my private practice. Please see the Art Therapy page to find out if I’m accepting new clients.
